What is a s10 non-conviction?

Although the Court may find you guilty of a criminal or traffic offence, section 10 of the Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act 1999 means the Court may choose to record no conviction.

Meaning a s10 non-conviction will result in no criminal record for the offence.

Conversely, the Court may dismiss your charge with no conditions, or the Court may dismiss your charge and place you on a good behaviour bond for up to 2 years.

If you fail to comply with the bond conditions, the Court may revoke the bond and impose a different sentence, which may incur a criminal record.
